The SPBCN is a large, influential, non-profit event. It is committed to introducing the American Spelling Bee model to China, organising outstanding players from various cities in China to participate in national-level competitions. It selects exceptional players to take part in the Intercontinental International Challenge in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. This program aims to provide a platform for Chinese youths to receive international English training and competitive education and to foster a high level of international proficiency in pupils who will study or participate in exchanges abroad in the future.

Fun fact:

A British television show called Spelling Bee, featuring adult contestants and broadcast by the BBC on 31st May 1938, is known to have been the world's first television game show.
