The 2024 global university application season is coming to an end as colleges and universities worldwide gradually release their admission results. Whilst it is becoming increasingly challenging to be accepted into undergraduate programmes at the world's most prestigious universities each year, Wellington College Hangzhou has already achieved impressive results in its inaugural application season. 

As of April 2024, the first group of graduates from Wellington College Hangzhou have been offered places at several highly regarded institutions across the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, and Spain. On average, each graduate received over 5 offers, with one pupil receiving an impressive 11 offers.  

We are proud to announce that 90% of our first graduates have been accepted into the top 50 universities listed in the QS World University Rankings 2024. 60% of these have been accepted into the top 30 universities and 40%, some through scholarships, into the top 20.  

The University of Melbourne 

(Ranked 14th in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 1st in Australia) 

The University of Melbourne boasts a list of prestigious alumni, professors and researchers, including 4 Australian prime ministers, 5 governor-generals, 9 premiers, 8 Nobel Laureates and 120 Rhodes Scholars (also known as Global Young Nobel Laureates).

(Ranked 19th in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 2nd in Australia) 

The University of Sydney prides itself on its highly distinguished alumni, which includes 7 Nobel Prize and Crawford Prize winners, 8 Australian prime ministers, 23 Supreme Court judges, 101 Rhodes Scholars, the first president of the United Nations General Assembly, 2 World Bank presidents, the father of WIFI, and the inventor of the cochlear implant. Additionally, the university has the highest number of billionaire alumni in Australia. 

University of Toronto 

(Ranked 21st in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 1st in Canada) 

The University of Toronto boasts an impressive list of alumni and faculty, including 10 Nobel Prize laureates, 6 Turing Award winners, 5 Canadian prime ministers, 3 Canadian governor generals, and 17 Supreme Court judges. In terms of academic achievements, the University of Toronto has made significant contributions in numerous areas, such as stem cells, insulin discovery, electron microscopy, and the discovery of the first certified black hole.

(Ranked 22nd in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 5th in the UK) 

The University of Edinburgh is a highly esteemed institution in the UK and has nurtured some of the most talented personalities in history, including 4 British prime ministers, Charles Darwin, the founder of the theory of evolution, J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter, Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes, James Clerk Maxwell, the father of electromagnetism, and Nanshan Zhong, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
