Great teacher support

Amandine and Elise enrolled at wellington College International Hangzhou in August 2021. Before joining, the family consulted a couple of friends, compared a few international schools in Hangzhou, discussed questions and concerns with teachers, and Wellington was the best choice for our children. The family believes that Wellington pursues academic excellence and cares about every pupil's wellbeing, providing an all-round education for pupils.

Due to travel restrictions, Amandine and Elise could not physically attend school until December 2021. However, they received tremendous support from the teachers at school, including Ms Paradine, Mr Norman, Ms Dunbar, Ms Gallacher, Ms Gianotti, Ms Song, Ms Moon and Ms Miller. In addition, the two girls had regular online lessons that helped them to feel part of the school community from the start. They sincerely appreciate the extra effort made by the teachers.

Learning and developing in a diverse environment

Amandine and Elise spoke mainly French, some Chinese, and practically no English before coming to China. When they join the school, they are immediately integrated. They enjoy the friendly learning atmosphere. They love the variety of art activities offered at Wellington.

Amandine participated in the

Year 6 End of Unit celebration

For Year 6, Amandine is deeply involved in the learning process. Rather than sit and listen, she can learn a topic by researching, remembering and remaking it. Recently, she participated and performed in the Year 6 end of unit celebration - Maya Museum learning journey. The family was also invited to the school to be present and support Amandine. Through which, as parents, we understood what Amandine has learnt and achieved at school.

For Year 1, Elise is learning by using her hands, moving her body and speaking and talking aloud. She is shy, but she is becoming more and more confident. Elise is delighted to go to school every day. That is all because of the encouragement from her teachers and the personalised care she receives.

To the family, all five Wellington values are fundamental. We want our children to be especially respectful. Respecting other people, respecting different cultures and traditions, and respecting the environment are essential to our highly connected society.
