On Saturday morning, 29 November 2025, the sun shone with exceptional generosity—no hint of late autumn chill, only clear, warm light spilling over the playground of Wellington College Education (China) - Hangzhou, gilding every corner with a soft, bright glow. It was on this beautiful day that the Charity Flea Market kicked off in high spirits and ultimately drew to a successful close amid laughter, bustling crowds and surging goodwill. More than just a community gathering centred on 'charity and sustainability,' this event brought together abundant love and energy, and put our commitment to philanthropy and social responsibility into tangible action.

Highlight Data:

A Testament to the Power of Love

The event received an enthusiastic response from the Wellington community and our friendly partners, delivering an impressive 'love report card':

Unprecedented Participation: Over 500 attendees joined the event, including Wellington pupils, teachers, parents, faculty and staff, pupil clubs, as well as teachers, pupils and parent representatives from Jingchao Primary School. Everyone answered the call of love, spreading the spirit of philanthropy to every corner of the campus.

Diverse and Rich Booths: 45 unique booths made their debut, featuring pre-loved items, handcrafted creations, fun games and exclusive snacks. The lineup included family booths co-created by parents and children, club booths independently run by pupils and/or supported by teachers, and a charity second-hand uniform zone organised by the Friends of Wellington (FOW) Executive Committee. These booths breathed new life into unused items and fostered warmth through interaction.

Fruitful Philanthropic Achievements: After a morning of love-sharing, the event raised a total of over RMB 13,260 in donations! All funds will be allocated strictly in line with the event's commitment: 50% will be donated to UNICEF to bring hope for life and education to vulnerable children worldwide; the remaining 50% will be equally divided between the Dream House Charity Project (protecting left-behind children and promoting educational equity) and the Million Tree Project (combating desertification and protecting ecosystems under the Roots & Shoots framework). This ensures every act of kindness lands precisely where it's needed, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Heartwarming Moments:

Freeze Frame of Beautiful Memories

The campus was filled with kindness and joy throughout the event: Young vendors earnestly called out to customers and patiently explained their items, learning responsibility and commitment through practice; Parents and children browsed for treasures hand in hand, finding surprises in friendly haggling and drawing closer to each other through charitable action. During the charity auction, 'prize items' from each booth were showcased one after another, with enthusiastic bidding—every raised hand was a relay of love. At the booth voting and awards ceremony, everyone cheered for their favourite booths, honouring creativity and dedication.

From the recycling of pre-loved items to the accumulation of charitable funds, from in-depth interaction among community members to warm collaboration between schools, this event was more than a philanthropy practice—it was a vivid reflection of Wellington's core values: 'Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage and Integrity.' A special thank-you goes to our friends from Jingchao Primary School for their wonderful booths and strong support; to every vendor for their careful preparation and selfless sharing; to every attendee for their enthusiastic participation and generous contributions; and to all staff and volunteers for their silent efforts, which ensured the event ran smoothly, warmly and successfully.

Love Never Ends:

See You Next Year

Philanthropy is a long journey, and every gathering is a new starting point. The conclusion of this Flea Market is not the end of love, but the beginning of more beautiful endeavours. In the future, Wellington College Education (China) - Hangzhou will continue to uphold its philanthropic mission by creating more platforms for community collaboration and social responsibility. We aim to nurture the seeds of 'global perspective + local compassion' in our children's hearts, allowing love and kindness to spread continuously, and jointly building a fairer, greener and warmer future.

A sincere thank-you to all participants! We look forward to reuniting with you at the 2026 Charity Flea Market—let's join hands again to shine light on more corners with love!
