David Wilson's Visit to Our School from Wellington College UK
This Wednesday, Wellington College Education (China) - Hangzhou was delighted to welcome a distinguished visitor – Mr David Wilson, Summer School Course Director at Wellington College in the UK. During his visit, Mr Wilson delivered an engaging and inspiring talk to our Year 8 pupils, before meeting with nearly 40 parent representatives to give a comprehensive introduction to the upcoming Wellington Summer School in England.
The Wellington Summer School is a vital part of the global Wellington College Education family. Rooted in more than a century of Wellington's educational heritage, the programme emphasises holistic development and individual growth. Pupils live in Wellington College's traditional boarding houses and immerse themselves in every detail of British school life – from morning academic lessons to evening team activities, from lakeside walks to assemblies in the Great Hall – each moment carefully designed to reflect the school's educational ethos.

I am delighted to introduce you to the Wellington Family Summer School, a unique and enriching experience held at the prestigious Wellington College in the UK. For the past five years, this programme has brought together international pupils from the Wellington College Education network for two weeks every July, offering immersive learning, cultural exchange and unforgettable memories.
Our summer school is designed to foster a global community of learners, providing pupils with the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of academic and extracurricular activities. From stimulating classroom sessions led by expert educators to exciting outdoor adventures and cultural excursions, every aspect of our programme is crafted to inspire and challenge pupils.

During his presentation to Year 8 pupils, Mr Wilson used vivid imagery and real-life examples to bring Wellington College in Crowthorne, England, to life, giving pupils a taste of the immersive boarding and learning experience that awaits them. The audience listened attentively, asking thoughtful questions, and the atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.
Later, Mr Wilson held an in-depth discussion with the parent representatives in attendance. He provided a detailed explanation of the academic programme, boarding arrangements and the wide range of co-curricular activities, enabling families to gain a clearer understanding of, and greater excitement for, this unique educational journey.
