As we stand at the threshold of a brand-new academic year here at Wellington College Education (China) - Hangzhou, I feel both excitement and deep gratitude.

Over the summer, we have been preparing not only for the return of our pupils, but for the next stage in our shared journey.
I am delighted to say that our facilities have seen some remarkable upgrades.

First, our brand-new Sixth Form Centre is now ready – a vibrant space where our senior pupils can study, collaborate, and prepare for life beyond Wellington.

In Building B, the fourth floor has been transformed. We now have new music, art, and science classrooms.
We have also opened a new DT Centre – a home for innovation and creativity.

Outside, our astroturf football pitch now has fresh turf, and the running track has been renewed. Our basketball courts are being converted into an indoor sports hall for basketball and volleyball.
And yes – our ski simulators are coming soon. Something we can all look forward to!
For our staff, we have created a multi-purpose centre on the second floor of Building A.
And in our staff dining hall, there is now a dedicated baking space, adding warmth and creativity to our community life.

In August, we welcomed many new teachers to our Wellington family.
Before term began, they took part in two weeks of intensive training – a time to connect, to learn, and to prepare for the high standards we all share.

On the 18th and 19th of August, we held a very special Town Hall meeting. It was an honour to welcome Joy, our Founder and Chairman of Wellington College Education (China), to campus.
Her energy, vision, and belief in our mission inspired us all – a reminder of the meaningful work we do every day.

And now, as we begin this new academic year, I have three wishes for our community:
Be curious – ask questions, explore ideas, and keep learning.
Be courageous – face challenges with determination and resilience.
And be kind – to yourselves, to each other, and to the world around you.

Together, let us make this a year of growth, of joy, and of shared success.
Welcome back to school!
