On Saturday, 7 June, Wellington College International Hangzhou came alive with vibrant colours, music and flavours as we celebrated International Day, a spectacular showcase of our school's rich cultural diversity.

The day began with a grand International Parade, where pupils proudly waved flags representing the 20 nations in our community, from Canada and China to South Africa and Jamaica. The Wellington Choir set the tone with a beautiful performance, followed by captivating acts including a piano piece by Claire (Year 3), energetic drum dances by Chinese vendors and lively performances of Latin, Indian, Indonesian, Spanish and American folk dances from parents and pupils.

Pupils and families explored country booths sampling delicacies such as South Africa's beloved braai, while collecting passport stamps from each nation. The day was filled with interactive activities like the World Map Canvas, Photo Booth and Stories from Around the World in the library. Additionally, Roots and Shoots highlighted our commitment to global citizenship.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers, parents, friends and pupils who made this day unforgettable; your enthusiasm and dedication truly embody the spirit of Wellington. Together, we celebrated unity in diversity, fostering connections that span the globe.
