HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Pupils across the school donned their most creative and spooky costumes, eager to win the title of best dressed. Each class had the chance to cast their vote, leading to one inventive winner per class.
The hallways were alive with a parade of miniature monsters, superheroes and otherworldly beings, setting a perfect tone for the day's celebrations.
Lunchtime took on an eerie twist from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Sodexo served a Halloween-themed feast that delighted and perhaps slightly spooked our taste buds.
Pupils indulged in creatively crafted dishes, complete with ghostly garnishes and frighteningly fun concoctions.
From 1:15 to 1:55 PM, the school buzzed with a trio of thrilling activities led by our dedicated teachers. Pupils eagerly participated in pumpkin carving, turning simple gourds into ghoulish jack-o’-lanterns. The crafts station was a hive of creative energy as pupils made spooky keepsakes to take home.
Meanwhile, over at the cake decorating table, young bakers got hands-on with icing and spooky toppings, creating deliciously eerie treats.
At 2:00 PM, it was time to sit back and enjoy some ghostly entertainment during pupil performances.
Claire from Year 3 enchanted the audience with her performance of "Scarecrow Dance" on the piano. The younger pupils from KS1 (Years 1, 2, and 3) had everyone clapping along to their lively rendition of "Spooky Skeleton". Not to be outdone, the KS2 pupils (Years 4, 5, and 6) presented "Dark and Stormy Night," a performance filled with dramatic flair.
Zombie Zumba took over from 2:20 to 2:30 PM, led by the ever-energetic Mrs Dunn. Pupils, teachers, and even a few brave parents joined in, dancing and moving in full zombie style. It was a fun and engaging way to add some physical activity to the day’s events.
The enchantment continued with a mesmerising magic show from 3:00 to 3:45 PM. Tricks and illusions captivated the audience, leaving everyone entranced and wondering what magic lay behind each awe-inspiring act.
Finally, the day wrapped up with Trick or Treat, music and final voting from 3:50 to 4:45 PM. Pupils excitedly navigated the school hallways, filling their treat bags while enjoying festive tunes.
The day’s activities concluded with the casting of final votes for the most impressive decorations and costumes.
All in all, the Halloween Community Event at WCIH was a resounding success. It was a day packed with creativity, excitement and community spirit.
Thanks to the participation and enthusiasm of our pupils, teachers, staff and parents, we were able to create an experience that embodied the true spirit of Halloween in every way.
We can't wait to see what next year has in store!
