Primary House Competition: Singing About Values and Unity

In a delightful spectacle of talent and teamwork, Wellington Primary recently hosted its annual House Singing Competition, enchanting the audience with a showcase centred on the theme of values. The event was a fusion of music, dance and camaraderie that brought together the entire school community.

Raglan House: 

A Tribute to Respect

Raglan House set the stage ablaze with a riveting performance of "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. Their powerful vocals and synchronised movements honoured the timeless anthem of dignity and mutual regard. The soulful rendition was a fitting tribute to the value of respect, captivating the audience and setting a high standard for the subsequent performances.

Murray House:

Energetic and Uplifting

Murray House opted for an energetic rendition of "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift, complete with a dynamic pom-pom dance routine. The performance was a vivid display of resilience and positivity, emphasising the importance of shaking off challenges and maintaining a positive spirit. The lively choreography and enthusiastic delivery had the audience clapping and dancing along.

Hardinge House:

Inspiring Progress

Hardinge House chose the encouraging and motivational tune "Keep On Movin’" by Five. Their performance exuded an infectious vibe of encouragement and determination. The pupils' harmonious singing and spirited performance echoed the value of perseverance, reminding everyone of the importance of moving forward and striving for success.

Combermere House:

A Message of Unity

Combermere House performed "Count On Me" by Bruno Mars, enveloping the audience in a warm sentiment of friendship and reliability. The heartfelt rendition underscored the significance of support and solidarity, evoking emotions and resonating deeply with the theme of values. Their melodic voices and sincere expressions communicated a powerful message of unity.

Benson House:

A Multifaceted Triumph

The climax of the event was Benson House's extraordinary performance of "Hey Let's Go" by Joe Hisaishi. Their act was a perfect blend of singing, dance routines, props and even a video presentation. This multifaceted approach not only showcased their diverse talents but also highlighted the value of teamwork and creativity. The audience was spellbound by the seamless integration of various elements, making Benson House the well-deserved winners of the competition. A special mention goes to Ms. Eleanor, the House Master, for her exceptional guidance and support.
