40% of WCIH Primary pupils (10-11 years old) who entered the JMC (14 years old), from approximately 250,000 entries, won a global award.

UKMT encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. Among many mathematical challenges organised by UKMT, their biggest competitions are the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Mathematical Challenge (JMC/IMC/SMC), which have over 700,000 entries from 6,000 schools each year and are the UK's most popular school Mathematical Challenges.

The Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC) is open to pupils up to 14 years of age (Year 8/Grade 7) based on the knowledge learned in the classroom, allowing pupils to apply their mathematical knowledge to solve problems in a novel way.

Despite entering the competition against pupils 3 to 4 years older than them, we are thrilled to announce that some of our Primary pupils have received gold, silver, and bronze global awards at the UKMT Junior Maths Competition! We are immensely proud of their fantastic achievements and we believe it is apt that we acknowledge the incredible hard work and problem-solving skills of our young mathematicians. 40% of WCIH Primary pupils (10-11 years old) who entered the JMC (14 years old), from approximately 250,000 entries, won a global award.
