Happy New Year of the Dragon to all members of our Wellington College Hangzhou community. As we begin a new term, I extend my warmest greetings to you all and I trust your New Year and Lantern Festival holidays were filled with joy and cherished moments among loved ones. To our new pupils, I wish you all a hearty welcome. You are joining a community known for its commitment to excellence and celebration of inclusivity. 

As Wellingtonians, we uphold five core values that define our interactions: Courage, Respect, Integrity, Kindness and Responsibility. These values are not just principles but the essence of our daily lives within our classrooms, sports and broader community. 

This term will continue our dedication to innovation and global mindedness as we prepare our pupils not just for academic success but for the future complexities of the global landscape. We infuse critical thinking, creativity and an international perspective into our teaching to empower our pupils as global citizens. In this digital era, we emphasise responsible technology use by integrating technology meaningfully into learning processes while prioritising pupil wellbeing. 

To our parents, please know that your support and collaboration are crucial for your children's educational success. We are privileged to partner with you in this journey. I invite you to engage with the school community, participate in events and maintain regular communication with our teachers and staff. Together, we create a nurturing environment for pupils to flourish. 

Throughout the term, we will host various events, workshops and gatherings to strengthen the bonds within our community. I eagerly anticipate seeing many of you at these occasions as we continue to foster camaraderie and a sense of belonging that makes Wellington College Hangzhou special, and inspires children to be Learners, Connectors and Changemakers. 

Let us approach this new term with curiosity, enthusiasm and resilience. Let us support each other, celebrate achievements together and tackle challenges as a united community. May this term be filled with learning, growth and countless memories waiting to be created.
