Welcome back, Wellington pupils
Happy New Year of the Rabbit! Welcome back to the start of a new term. I hope that the school holiday break has provided an opportunity to spend time with your family and friends as well as to find a little time to rest. It has felt a long time since we have heard the laughter and learning of the students in the corridors and the classrooms and it was wonderful to see all the students on Monday morning greeting their friends and sharing holiday stories.
As the new term begins, we welcome new pupils to our Wellington community. Seeing our community continue to grow brings me great delight, each new student brings a new personality, new joy and new experiences to share with us. This week I have observed new friendships being formed and watching the excitement of students getting to know each other has been touching to watch.
Thoughts have already turned to the term/semester ahead and what this might look like. We are looking forward to continuing our work and learning together with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. We recognise that to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.
In March we are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues from Wellington College UK who will complete our Annual Review. During this process the team will attend lessons, talk to the children, evaluate our assessment data and talk to our leaders. I am looking forward to sharing their findings with you soon.
We are looking forward to an exciting but busy term.
