Congratulations Ms. Zhang: IGCSE Chinese teacher and author

Wellington College International Hangzhou is thrilled to announce that Ms. Nana Zhang, one of our Chinese language teachers, is now a published author of the IGCSE First Language Chinese Cambridge 0509 course (Sinolingua Publishing). Her book was compiled based on the requirements and example questions of the newly added "Classical Chinese Writing Reading Section" in the IGCSE examinations.

Ms. Nana Zhang is a Chinese teacher from Jiangsu Province. She graduated from the Communication University of China with a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. She also completed the PGCEi programme at the University of Nottingham.

Ms. Zhang believes that every pupil has unique characteristics and she will guide them through the best pathway to reach their achievements.

Ms. Zhang has 7 years teaching experience in Thailand and Malaysia. She has taught Chinese as a Foreign Language, Chinese as a Second Language, and First Language Chinese to pupils in primary and secondary schools and universities. In addition, she has conducted in-depth research on HSK courses and IGCSE Chinese courses, especially first language Chinese.

When teaching in Thailand, facing the lack of suitable textbooks, Nana and her colleagues compiled a series of Chinese textbooks for primary and middle school learners in Thailand. During her teaching in Malaysia, she completed her first book about IGCSE, IGCSE Chinese As A First Language-Classical Chinese, and prepared and built a Chinese Test Centre for the school.

Ms. Zhang is a real asset to the Wellington College International Hangzhou Chinese teaching team. Along with her colleagues the pupils will thrive and excel in their Chinese studies.
