Recent trends in A Level results in the UK

According to the latest CAIE data, worldwide A Level entries (CAIE exam board only) exceeded 680,000 in 2025, a 9% year-on-year increase and an all-time high. Growth was even stronger in East Asia (China, Japan, Mongolia and South Korea), with entries rising by 11% year-on-year.

Amid this unprecedented scale and intensifying competition, our pupils achieved an outstanding 64% A*/A rate—a testament to their personal commitment, as well as our rigorous academic environment and high-quality teaching.

These outstanding results have paved the way for our graduates to receive offers from world-renowned universities in this graduation season. The Class of 2025 has received offers from prestigious institutions such as University College London (UCL), the University of Hong Kong and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In total, 77% of the cohort have gained admission to universities ranked within the global top 20 in the QS World University Rankings, with scholarship offers reaching RMB 3 million. This marks an exceptionally successful year for university placements.

Last week's IGCSE results once again underscore our pupils' sustained academic excellence, with an impressive 61.2% of grades achieving A*/A and 35.4% awarded A*, compared with the UK national average of 21.8% A*/A and 5.1% A*.

Our pupils excelled particularly in humanities subjects this year. Mandarin Chinese (Foreign Language), French, Spanish and English Literature achieved a perfect 100% A*/A rate, and English as an Additional Language followed closely with 87% A*/A.

In sciences and mathematics, our pupils have sustained their impressive performance, with both Physics and Chemistry maintaining strong results at 95% A*/A. In the challenging Additional Mathematics, 81% of pupils achieved A*/A, while Biology also delivered a notable 80% A*/A.

Our signature subjects continued to shine, with Economics upholding its tradition of excellence at 94% A*/A, followed closely by Music at 83% A*/A.

Particularly noteworthy is the outstanding individual achievement of four pupils who attained 10 A*/A grades, along with another four who secured 9 A*/A grades. Their unwavering dedication to excellence has resulted in a landmark accomplishment worthy of celebration.
