Stepping into the New School Year: We Are Ready
As the new term approaches, we are delighted to introduce exciting changes to our campus. We have updated facilities and spaces through multiple maintenance and renovation projects over the summer to create an even more welcoming environment for our teachers and pupils, adding fresh vitality to the campus.
While our pupils revelled in the joys of summer, we seized the opportunity to transform our campus. Now, as they eagerly return to school, they will be greeted by a revitalised campus that offers delightful surprises at every turn.
Through a rigorous selection process, 53 new teachers have come aboard at Wellington College Hangzhou, armed with a wealth of experience, vitality, and creativity. To ensure a smooth and swift transition for our new staff, the school conducted a two-week orientation, covering school culture, educational aspirations, pedagogical strategies, and curriculum highlights.
The new teachers have bonded over ice-breaker activities, gained an in-depth understanding of our educational philosophy through engaging discussions with the leadership and our existing teachers, and experienced the vibrant internationalised atmosphere of Wellington College Hangzhou through communication and the services provided. Thriving through valuable exchanges in a relaxing and joyful atmosphere, they are fully prepared for the new term.
Insights from some teachers
during induction
From the moment I arrived here, I was embraced by a warm and friendly atmosphere, with every teacher greeting me with a smile. Through the induction, I've learned many new ways of learning. Wellington College Hangzhou is a workplace filled with enthusiasm and self-motivation from a united team, and I am proud to be a part of the Wellington family.
The August induction has made a lasting impression on me. The programme was comprehensive. We were introduced to the new environment, made new friends, and learned from our colleagues who generously shared their teaching philosophies and educational aspirations. It was incredibly enlightening. I'm brimming with excitement for what the future holds here.
Throughout this journey, new teachers have embraced the role of learners, absorbing, comprehending and internalising the content shared, then skilfully weaving in their expertise. This iterative learning experience has bolstered their confidence and equipped them to guide our pupils to new heights in the upcoming term.
As we approach the annual Orientation Day at Wellington College Hangzhou next week, we are excited to introduce you to our new teaching staff. Let us embrace the anticipation for the first delightful encounter of the new term.
